Lifestyle on the South-East Coast of Portugal

Monte Gordo

Monte Gordo is focused on beautiful beaches, and these beaches are simply stunning. There are miles of golden sands, which are lapped by calm seawaters.

During the summer, Monte Gordo has a calm and personable ambience. It’s near the Gulf of Cadiz, 5 km away from the spanish boarder and the sea is always a few degrees warmer then the rest of the Algarve. Monte Gordo is located in the east Algarve.
These facts makes Monte Gordo so special for holidays with children.

The Algarve

Paradisiacal sandy beaches, rugged orange rocky landscapes that drop steeply into the Atlantic, an evergreen outback and colorfully tiled cities: The Algarve is one of the most popular regions in Portugal and a great year-round destination.

In summer, temperatures climb up to 40 degrees, and then it’s mainly beach vacations. In winter it doesn’t get colder than 15 degrees – the perfect conditions for relaxed hiking and discovering the cities far away from the big tourist crowds. There is hardly a place here that is not worth a trip.

Portugal

Portugal is the oldest state in the Iberian Peninsula and one of the oldest in Europe, its territory having been continuously inhabited since prehistoric times. It was first unified as a country in 1139, after the Battle of São Mamede, and has since been a major political, economic and cultural power in the Iberian Peninsula and Europe.

The country has a rich history and culture, with significant influences from the Celts, Romans, Germanic peoples, Muslims and Christians.
